About Us (4EDEN):
4Eden is a local charity providing support, services, and opportunities throughout the Eden Valley from our office based in Penrith. Our services specialise in coaching people with learning disabilities and/or neurodiversity. We provide a wide range of opportunities with staff, trained and skilled to meet individual’s specific needs.

We work closely within our local community, with local people, voluntary groups, and local employers to offer a diverse range of work placements, employment options, clubs, and social groups. We provide supported living and independent living opportunities. We network within our community to attract a variety of inclusive everyday activities that enable people to live their best life, according to them and have friendships outside of paid support, focussing on independence.

About The Role:
The Customer Services Representative will be responsible for the daily execution of addressing customer issues and resolve them in a timely and efficient manner.

By supporting the Team Professionals, Senior Leadership Team and 4Eden’s customers on a variety of channels, the Customer Service Representative will ensure that all valid concerns are dealt with as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:
• Be in the office and ready to take calls at 8:30am
• Check voicemail, deal with any issues, forward to appropriate person/department over teams and email.
• Check emails, mobile phone, Teams messages.
• Check pigeonhole for any outstanding paperwork and distribute to appropriate team leaders.
• Cover shifts – red boxes on Planday for the following day/week.
• Answer all incoming calls, directing to appropriate person, taking messages, forwarding information using in-house messaging platforms, Teams, email etc.
• Answer video doorbell, welcoming visitors to the building and offer hospitality.
• Any staff sick calls begin absence process; update rota include details in comment box, find cover and inform everyone involved – person supported, parent/carers, team lead and staff. Remind the member of staff to start the digital absence form, located in Teams General Portal.
• Log any calls/visits that involve the guys in their files and inform the team lead.
• Assist with administration duties during down times (filing, scanning, sorting paperwork)
• Ensure staff signing in and out of inventory/meeting rooms etc….
• Last hour of duty, send updates and first response report of the day out via specified Teams group.
• Act as Fire Marshall in the event of a fire or fire drill.
• Ensure end of day office closure process is followed, including kitchen area being left clean and presentable, taking note of anything left. ALL staff are responsible for their own cups/dishes.
• If everyone is out of the building check the fire escape door is locked and lock the building.

Person Specification:

Essential: 

  • GCSE or equivalent at grade A-C (9-4) in maths and English.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • High levels of accuracy, attention to detail, ensuring professional standards are met.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Enthusiastic to learn and contribute to the business success.
  • A genuine interest in the role.
  • Strong sense and understanding of quality in a client focused service.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to plan, manage and prioritise work tasks; well organised.
  • Ability to use own initiative but know when to refer queries and take instructions
  • Friendly, professional, and confident manner, with ability to build positive relationships.

Desirable:

  • Some experience of working in a similar role.
  • Understanding of rota/schedule system.
  • Working with individuals who have learning difficulties.

Working with the guys who purchase support services from 4Eden, you will work alongside and coach this group to focus on vocational activities as part of a pathway to paid employment and supported employment. You will enable people to gain experience on the job.  

What will you be coaching people to do?  

  • health and safety/risk assessment and working as part of team to meet contracts 
  • customer service and problem-solving skills 
  • preparing quotes, budgeting, buying supplies 
  • grass cutting, gardening, landscaping 
  • building and repair work 
  • painting and decorating 
  • equipment repair and maintenance 
  • general handy work 
  • cleaning, sorting 

People will be supported to achieve in workplace training. You will support the team to create a work routine and gain skills while they build professional relationships with colleagues.  

Over time you will develop and train the people we support to carry out a variety of jobs working and making things happen that benefit our local community.

TRUSTEE VACANCIES

Our strategy has been very successful, and this has ensured strong growth over recent years. We need to strengthen our small Board of Trustees to allow 4EDEN to remain effective. Trustees can make a difference by helping to make key decisions, provide guidance, direction and oversight. New board members can bring a fresh perspective and valuable experience.

Being a Trustee is very satisfying as it provides the opportunity to give something back to your local community, while aiding personal development. We particularly need knowledge from some key business functions such as Marketing, HR, IT, Strategic Planning or Operations. Although we would encourage those who have life skills in any of our business areas or the voluntary or care sectors to consider applying, as you will certainly be able to make a difference.

YOUR COMMITMENT

Generally, we hold around 11 meetings a year. These are made up of four Board Meetings, an AGM where you would be required to attend. Plus, Sub-Committee meetings that discuss specific topics. You would only need to attend those where your area of expertise is needed or if you are interested. They usually last about 90 minutes. In addition, there may be some events organised to promote 4EDEN.

The role of Trustee is a voluntary position, therefore unpaid.

Job description:

A home where 3 individuals will live and learn to build up their independence and live an ordinary life. Who are able-bodied and communicate verbally, knowledge of autism and mental health would be an advantage, however, full training will be provided and working alongside other team members during induction.

You will be a part of a team around the people enabling each person to live their life to the full, both in their own home, their local and wider community and supporting to participate in their local community. The rota will be created by the staff team, so work-life balance, hours of working, leave and duties to undertake will be discussed and agreed by the staff so that wrap around support times are covered.

Responsibilities will include:

  • To maintain health and wellbeing
  • Supporting individuals and groups in their chosen activity including domestic duties and involvement in local and wider community activities.
  • Providing the best quality of life.
  • To support individuals to maintain and manage their tenancy.
  • Contribute to team meetings and service user reviews and attend any meetings that are essential to maintain the safe running of the service.
